The austrian EURO-notes show architectural styles, which represent Europe´s culture and are a connecting element. In the context of a total-european competition, the design from the notes-designer Robert Kalina was choosed from the OeNB. The EURO-notes are uniformly created without national differences and are valid in the whole EURO-area.

Aditionally to a special paper, integrated water-mark and security strip, there will also be gravure technique, special colours and security foils. For safety reasons, the finally look of the bank notes will be released on 1^st of September 2001. Until this day only the designs get released. Different colours, sizes and values make the EURO-notes
user-friendly and easy to recognize; great value numbers and different formats make the distinction for blind people and people, who don´t see good, easier.
